At the playground on the weekend, we were sitting on the side watching the boys play, and overheard this highly amusing conversation between them:
Joshua, hanging off some balance beam: Jayden, see those two people sitting over there? (Referring to us, their parents)
Jayden, half listening while focusing on some apparatus: humm…..yeah?
Joshua instructed: Go ask if they have any kids!
Jayden, looked up at Joshua with an incredulous expression: Of course they have kids! WE are their kids!
Joshua, smirked: I know that!! Just go and ask them anyways, okay!
Jayden, ever obedient to his brother and getting himself in trouble, hopped towards us with a cheeky smile and arms waving: Hhiiiii! What are you doing here?
Us: We are having a rest…..what about you?
Jayden: We are playing…..Where are your children?
Us: Oh no! I don’t know, we’ve lost them, have you seen our boys?
Jayden, replied letting out an annoyed sigh: WE are your children!! Silly Mommy and Daddy!!
And then he walked back toward the slides….
And Jeff and I looked at each other……Really!? They started it this time! Right?
